Monuments
The Chak Wak Museum in Tozeur is a cultural and entertainment space located in the heart of the Tozeur palm grove, covering an area of 5 hectares.
It features dinosaur reconstructions, animal and human figures, mini museums, caves, and lush vegetation.
This harmonious ensemble retraces the history of humanity and the evolution of species through time and across religions.
You will also find dining areas on site.

Just a few dozen kilometers from Tozeur and Nefta lie Chebika, Tamerza, and Mides, oases set within a mountainous landscape and among the most breathtaking sites in southern Tunisia. In this setting, each oasis has its own distinct character.
In Chebika, a wadi rushes down the side of a steep mountain, forming waterfalls and flowing streams where frogs can be heard calling.
The old village of Tamerza, abandoned like a ghost town, overlooks a spectacular mountain panorama. The oasis is nourished by waterfalls that lie at its heart.
Mides is the wildest and most intriguing of the oases, ideal for hiking. Along the way, you can observe unique geological landscapes.
Each of the three oases is different, choose the one that inspires you most, and the hotel will help you organize your itinerary. Don’t forget to take home Nour dates, known as “the miraculous fruit” for their health benefits.

Chott El Jerid is a vast salt flat covering 5,000 km², stretching between the Sahara and the surrounding mountains. Walk across this immense and surreal expanse of salt that seems endless. The ideal time to visit is at sunrise or sunset, when the mineral landscape reveals its most striking shades and colors.
For film enthusiasts, one of the iconic filming locations of the famous Star Wars saga is located at Chott El Gharsa, between Tozeur and Nefta.
For your excursion, please feel free to contact our hotel concierge service for assistance.

Tunisia is home to 40,000 km² of sand dunes, constantly reshaped by the wind.
A stunning spectacle of endless dunes unfolds before you along trails that can be explored with a guide in an all-terrain vehicle. We do not recommend venturing alone. The best times to enjoy the desert are in the cool of the morning or while admiring the majestic sunsets.
Stop at a desert camp where you can enjoy a sweet tea or a meal accompanied by traditional bread, the “Tabouna.”
Monuments
The Medina of Tozeur is remarkable for its architectural beauty. Airy and human-scale, the old town dates back to the 15th century and is entirely built with beige mud bricks, which naturally keep buildings cool. These bricks are specific to the Tozeur region and are also used for modern administrative buildings in the area, maintaining protection against the heat.
You can wander through the narrow streets of the Medina, explore local shops, admire the beautiful mosque minaret, or visit the Bey’s house, which was used as a set for several scenes in the famous film The English Patient.
A tour of the Medina can be completed in about an hour and does not require a guide.

The journey from Tozeur to Matmata is a bit long (around three and a half hours), but the town, famous for its troglodyte dwellings, is well worth the visit.
These Berber homes were built to withstand the climate and maintain consistent temperatures throughout the year.
George Lucas, the American director, screenwriter, and producer, chose this unique village to film several scenes of Star Wars.
In 2020, these dwellings were proposed for inclusion on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
This excursion also offers the opportunity to stop along the way and enjoy a meal: “Mechoui”, grilled meats over a wood fire, served with seasonal Tunisian salads and homemade fries.
